
Dr. Julie Scholtz
DVM
Dr. Julie Scholtz graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Science specializing in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Behaviour before obtaining her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University. She then completed a small animal rotating internship in New York City, where she gained additional training with a particular focus on emergency, surgery and internal medicine.
Dr. Scholtz has a special interest in veterinary behaviour and prioritizes fear-free, low-stress handling with her patients. She recognizes the importance of helping pets feel safe and comfortable during veterinary visits, particularly in the often stressful setting of emergency care, and strives to tailor her approach to the individual needs of each patient.
In her free time, Dr. Scholtz enjoys yoga, hiking, reading, and spending time with her two rescue dogs, Sully and Otis.
