Dr. Aiyanna Hoogsteen
DVM
Dr. Hoogsteen was born and raised in Brantford, ON, and studied Animal Biology at the University of Guelph before obtaining her DVM degree at the Ontario Veterinary College.She then moved out to British Columbia to work as a rural mixed animal veterinarian, where she developed an interest in emergency medicine and surgery.
She now splits her time between provinces, spending part of the year working here at BVERH and the other in primary practice out in BC. She enjoys working with such a skilled and compassionate team of vets, technicians, and support staff, and is eager to help provide emergency care for pets in the Burlington area.
When not working, Dr Hoogsteen can be found training and competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, hiking, skiing, paddleboarding, or spending time in the great outdoors with her adventure-cat, Rameses.
